Personalised kitchen tool based on classic user needs research.

Together with a probe kit and tools created in a rapid prototyping session I created methods to get insight in my user’s needs in the kitchen. Based on my findings I created a mood board to visualise his aesthecis and materials surrounding his lifestyle.

While analysing Victor’s favourite recipes and habits in the kitchen it became obvious that most errors and loss of time occurred when moving food items from one place to another. The process of developing a tool for these transitions became also a reflection on what qualities a product that is new to the market has to possess to be understood as a kitchen tool.

In the abstraction of a big round rock, a “stenbumling” which is characteristic for the Swedish outdoors, I found a way to incorporate my user’s lifestyle and his stories about the forest and hunt in the shape of the tool.
